Reflections for Piano is a new collection of pieces for solo piano written throughout 2017. Each piece, which cover a broad range of styles and moods, contains both the composer’s tasteful and inventive use of harmony, coupled with his inspired melodic writing, reflecting his eclectic taste in music.
The book contains Twelve Preludes, representing each month of the year - the thematic material for each piece generated with the use of a cipher, based on the name of each month. The Preludes are not really intended to be performed as a complete body of work, but rather as individual stand-alone pieces or as a selection. Two further pieces in the book are Stellar and Another Time..., described as ‘Sensational’ by Chris Norton (celebrated composer of the hugely popular and world-renowned Microjazz Series of books). This new collection is ideal for the discerning pianist or teacher looking for new, modern and fresh repertoire, and will a perfect addition to any recital or festival programme. A digital album and individual track downloads are also available.
